Details

Weather Warning flags are used to signal the advance or presence of storms, strong gales and hurricanes. Though not still in official use, these flags are still used by many sailors and stations to notify others of an approaching storm. Our Warning Flag sets are constructed with high tensile strength and heavy-weight nylon tailored to withstand wind and salt exposure. These flags are finished with lock stitching on the edges and strong heading and grommets. For more information about our US Storm Signal Flag Sets, see the description tab below.

Our Weather Warning flag sets are finished with strong canvas heading and brass grommets. Each set includes 2 flags and 2 pennants. One Pennant flag warns of high winds up to 38 mph or 33 knots. 2 Pennants signal of gale strength winds between 39-54 mph and 34-47 knots. One flag warns of storms with high winds between 55-73 mph and 4863 knots. Two flags alert others of hurricanes or tropical cyclones with winds exceeding 74 mph or 64 knots. Freedom and Glory offers size 1 and size 2 flags and pennants. Size 1 pennants are 18"W x 36"L, and size 1 flags are 18"W x 18"L. Size 2 flags are 36"Wx 36"L, while pennants are 36"W x 72"L. These flags are intended for outdoor use.
