The Mobile flag majestically characterizes the history, pride and beauty of the Alabama Port City. Known as the “City of Six Flags", Mobile classically honors the six governments which have ruled the city. The Mobile flag displays French influenced colors with a red strip moving across the top of the banner. A white field, with the official Mobile city seal, lies above a blue stripe at the bottom. The Mobile city Seal pays tribute to the history and industry of the city. The six flags of the governments which presided over the city, the French, British, Spanish, the Republic of West Florida, the Confederacy and the U.S., are also on the shield.
